How did you get your start?

My love of design started as a child when I was more interested in decorating Barbie's Mansion (AKA a refrigerator box) than I was in playing with Barbie.  I was passionate about art and interiors in college but my parents insisted on me getting a business degree, which I don’t regret.  After years in the business world, a precious husband, and 2 babies later, we built our custom home in Milton, Georgia.  Friends and friends of friends kept asking me to help them with their homes and Lindsey Hene Interiors began!

Was there one job or contact that set the course of your career?

Peggy Jones of Timeless Interiors was a mentor to me in high school and she told me “God made beautiful things, and He made me to love them”.  After struggling with the superficiality of beauty, interiors, and design and wanting to live a life that was deeper than "surface-y" things; I felt at peace to work in this gift that I can only give Him credit for.

What is your favorite/most successful way to advertise?

I have been amazed and overwhelmed that all of my business has been word of mouth!  However, Instagram is loads of fun!  Pretty pictures!!

If there were 1 thing you could change about your career, what would it be?

I would want more time to design! There is just not enough time in the day.
