The start of the new year is a great time to freshen up your home, your workout routine, and your eating habits. So why wouldn't it also be a great time to freshen up your look by trying a new hairstyle?
We gathered some of our favorite hair trends for 2015 from runways around the world to share with you. Some of these may require a visit to your stylist for a new cut, but some of the hot 2015 styles are easy to achieve without losing any length or making the plunge into a new color.
For Everyone: Boho Waves
This is one of my favorites! This look works for just about any length of hair and is so easy to pull off. Gives a real "I woke up like this" vibe while still being beautiful and somewhat tamed.
For the Not-So-Daring: The Off-Center Part
This style is an easy and very subtle change to your usual hair styling technique. Part your hair to the center, and then move the part just slightly to one side. This isn't a center part or a side part, the off-center is in! This is what I would call a baby step towards trying a new style.
Chic and Sleek Long Ponytail
Basically the polar opposite of the boho waves look. Super chic, clean, and sleek! This look was all over the runways for 2015 in all manners of high, low, super straight, and a little curled.
Short Hair Trend: Wavy Bob
I love short haircuts! They're so cute and look really professional. If you are ready to make a change to a short 'do, now is the perfect time as the wavy bob is taking the style world by storm. Very similar to the boho waves but with a little more old Hollywood and a little less length.
The Trend that Keeps on Giving: Braids & Twists
Since Katniss hit the scene, braids have been everywhere and taking on so many new shapes. The sky's the limit with braids now; twisted up, fishtailed, across the front, and all of the above at once. Braided and twisted hair is here to stay for the foreseeable future, and we're pretty happy about that!
For the Ladies: Big Buns
The ladylike bun is back and better than ever. Braided and low, or big and high, many designers were channelling ballerinas in the most delicate and demure ways. A great solution when you're running late for work but still want to look put together!
Big and Beautiful: Bombshell Hair
Another personal favorite! I love big hair that looks soft and effortless. The bombshell look is in and that is a win for everyone! We love this for many lengths of hair and hope you will try it for yourself. If you have an event, try a blowout by a professional stylist with this look in mind. It is sure to be a crowd pleaser.
Accessorizing Hair: Mixed Materials
Last but certainly not least, mixed materials! You can wear this look in a variety of ways, from metallic fasteners to ornate pieces like the Fendi look featured above. Easy to tailor to your personal tastes and can be made age appropriate no matter if you are in your 20s 30s 40s, etc.
We hope you will try out some of these fun trends for 2015 and freshen up your look by trying something new. I feel inspired to try some new braids, buns, accessories, and possibly even a new cut and hope you feel inspired, too!
