Icelandic Adventures Through the Seasons

2016 has been a very exciting year for us here at Ends In Style! Christina has now made three trips to beautiful Iceland, one with me (Susie) and Victor for our elopement which she photographed!
Clearly, Iceland is near and dear to our hearts now and we want to share with you why we love it so. We also encourage you to book a trip and see if for yourself! We do our best to take beautiful pictures and to describe things in a way that makes you feel like you're there--but they cannot do the real thing justice!
We'll help you prepare for your trip and have the best time possible. We're bringing you a series of posts in the coming weeks about traveling to the country that droves of people are flocking to, and with good reason!

M & V Mag: Behind the Scenes

A few months ago, we had the pleasure of working on a photoshoot with the lovely and extremely talented Amy Osaba and Annette Joseph. If you aren't already familiar with these two, let me introduce you!

Amy Osaba is the brains behind Amy Osaba events, a floral and events styling business. She creates some of the most stunning arrangements along with her staff of floral designers for weddings and other events. Amy Osaba Events has been published in many wedding magazines and blogs for their florals and overall event styling.

Annette Joseph is a stylist, producer, and author who has been published in countless magazines and is featured on The Today Show regularly to share her ideas and tips on entertaining, styling, and cooking.

BEHIND THE SCENES

Together, Amy and Annette  put together a gorgeous party right in Amy's King Plow studio to be featured in the August/September issues of Muses and Visionaries Magazine. Christina and I were able to go and work on this shoot and it was an absolute joy! Here are some behind the scenes shots of the beautiful scene, along with some of the goings on of a set--like ironing napkins just outside of the camera frame, laughter, and fixing lipgloss.

Frugal Friday: Fashion

This post goes out to all the ladies!

It’s a special date night on a summer evening and you naturally, have nothing to wear. You want to look effortless, chic, and sexy. So you turn to the internet to find some inspiration from celebrity fashion. This can so easily turn into a rabbit hole of frustration because if you’re anything like me, you don’t have 16 pairs of Christian Louboutin shoes, are not close, personal friends with Herve Leger and do not own a single piece of Tiffany jewelry. How on earth will you pull together a look that is as fabulous as that of your celebrity style icons’? With frugality, that’s how!

One of the many fashionable actresses I look to for style inspiration is the incomparable Charlize Theron. She can pretty much do no wrong. With talent that just wont quit, and legs that go for days, she looks beautiful in everything. This casual red carpet look is a little bit rock and roll but the LWD (Little White Dress) that is oh-so-in this season softens the edgier vibe.

Charlize, lookin' fab

Charlize’s look is a Stella McCartney dress ($1,200) Stella McCartney chain clutch bag ($800), with Giuseppe Zanotti cap toe pumps ($465), and Christian Dior Earrings ($700), for a grand total of $3,165!

But wait! Before throwing a fit because you don't have a spare $3,200 for a date night outfit, let's try to put a little something beautiful together that is actually affordable!

You, lookin' fab

To recreate this look on a reasonable budget, I found a Zara dress (retail $59.90, on sale now for $29.99), Steve Madden Deceptve pumps ($77.98), an Olivia + Joy Tessa clutch (retail $78, on sale now for $53.99), and ALDO Therong Stone Set Flower Stud earrings ($15.24).  The grand total for our look is $177.20! With a high neckline like this, I recommend wearing hair swept back in a simple up-do (like a messy pony or loose sock bun) to show off the detail of the dress and your beautiful face.

What do you think? Is this a look you’d like to try? Whose celebrity style inspires you?

We'd love to hear from you!
